Miron Violet Glas
A sustainable product like this one of course needs packaging that is sustainable and also able to keep the product for as long as possible.
Spattered, white, green and brown glass allow the visible light spectrum to pass through and do not offer sufficient protection against light-induced decay processes.
- MIRON violet glass blocks the entire spectrum of visible light, with the exception of violet light.
- At the same time, it permits some rays on the UV-A and infra-red spectrum to pass through.
- This unique combination offers ideal protection against ageing processes induced by visible light and this increases products’ effectiveness and lifespan.
A three-month storage experiment saw various herb and spice mixtures being stored in various types of glass (white, brown, violet) and placed indoors or in the sun for several hours a day.
After two months, the quality was photographically investigated by examining visual changes, and changes in smell were also noted via a blind test with human subjects.
The image shows significant fading in the chive samples stored in brown and white glass in direct sunlight. As this photograph shows, the sample stored in MIRON violet glass
did not undergo any colour change. The chives stored in MIRON violet glass were also s
ignificantly more powerful and fresh smelling.
